The area rug cleaning process we use involves thorough and comprehensive stages. First, rugs are separated based on if they are hand-woven or machine-woven. Handmade rugs are generally more sensitive. Then we remove as much dust as possible from the rug.
Rugs are then tested for color-fastness, if the colors bleed, we have to use a special method, like dry cleaning, to leave as little water as possible on the rug. We then check to see if there are any areas that are more soiled than others, if so we then pre-treat them for any odor problems that may have been occurring.
Rugs are then washed with different methods depending on the type, age, color fastness, thickness. In brief some methods we use include mostly complete soaking and submersion in water which is the best way to clean, dry cleaning, jet spray and extraction. The fringe is treated separately to prevent damage.
We try, as much as possible, to dry the rugs under the sun. Sun makes the result more beautiful and give nature's warmth to the fiber.

Submersion Handwash Cleaning Process for Oriental Rugs and Carpets
For Oriental rugs with animal stains and odors, we are happy to provide the submersion handwash cleaning process. Here are the step-by-step details of this innovative new procedure:
Step 1. Dusting.
Dust and particulate matter lying deep within the rug are removed using compressed air and specially designed tools. Foot traffic and dry soil can act like sandpaper on the fiber, and this step is often referred to as "air washing" or "dusting" of the rug. Vacuuming, shaking, or beating are not nearly as effective.
Step 2. Wash and Rinse.
In many of the various countries where our oriental rugs and carpets are manufactured, the washing is done in a flowing river, where rugs are submerged for hours at a time. Our process essentially replicates this method with a wash pit in which water moves from one end to the other continuously. Mild cleaning agents designed specifically for Oriental rug fibers like silk and wool are massaged deeply into the rug. Unlike a simple bath, our process continuously sends only clean, soft water across the rug.
Step 3. Final Rinse.
The rug is removed from the pit and given a soft water rinse.
Step 4. Drying.
Mild heat and airflow is applied as the rug hangs to dry. Using compressed air, the fibers are given a luxurious fluffing.
Step 5. Grooming the Fringe.
Attention to detail is essential at this stage, so we hand-comb your rug’s fringe to ensure that they are properly finished and groomed.
Step 6. Final Inspection.
